Storage Tips
Cramelot Storage Cares about your Possessions!
When you move your possessions into a self storage unit, it is important to take some precautions to be sure your items remain safe. Here ar ea few simple things you can do.
Safeguard Your Goods
- Make a list of the items being stored. You may even want to photograph or make a videotape of your things. Include identifying information when possible.
- Keep this list, photographs &/or videotape in a safe place, but not in your storage unit.
- Number each box, and keep a separate inventory of each item contained in each box.
- When possible, store all items (especially boxes and furniture) up off the floor.
- Do not store items right next to the door rails. Most door are not completely water tight and rain may come in around the edges.
- Put dust covers on furniture.
- Wrap all glass and breakable items in plastic bubble wrap and cover them with shipping blankets for added protection.
- Put the expensive items inside the unit first and store large, heavy items in the front.
- Make sure you have renters insurance, so that your items will be covered in case of any loss.
